Electrolux - Garden of Hope

For every person who registers and plants a sunflower, Electrolux will donate $1 to Ovarian Cancer Canada to a maximum of $10,000. You will also be entered for a chance to win an eco-friendly Wave-Touch^TM washer and dryer from Electrolux.

1. How To Enter:
a. No purchase entry: Visit the Garden of Hope website at www.gardenofhope.ca between June 5, 2009 and September 13, 2009 (the “Promotion Period”), Complete the online registration form by providing your name, address, email address, telephone number including all the required fields, confirm compliance with the sweepstakes rules and submit your online entry to be automatically entered in the sweepstakes. In the event of a dispute regarding submission of an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized holder of the e-mail account. The authorized account holder is the individual who is assigned to the e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the e-mail address.

b. General Limit of one (1) entry per person and per email address. Duplicates will be void and ineligible to win. Entries entered later than September 13, 2009 (the “Sweepstakes Closing Date) are ineligible to win. Entries that are late, contain typographical/spelling errors, are altered, tampered with, incomplete, inaccurate, irregular in any way, or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules will be void and ineligible to win. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means are void.

2. Eligibility
The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside on or before the Sweepstakes Closing Date. You are not eligible if you are: (a) an officer, director, representative, agent or employee of Electrolux Canada Corp. (the “Sponsor) their respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries or related companies, and their respective advertising, promotional, publicity or production agencies, or any other provider of goods or services related to this Sweepstakes; (b) an employee of the independent contest judging organization; or (c) a member of the immediate family (defined as parent, child, sibling, or spouse, regardless of where they reside) or live in the same household with (whether related or not) any of the above individuals. You can earn extra entries into the draw, every time you send a flower to a friend or family member, and they register in our Garden of Hope, you will receive another chance to win. Referral of friends that have already entered will not earn you extra entries. Additional entries are also earned every time one of the referral entries referrers another person and that person register. Example: If person A refers person B, and person B registers and refers person C and that person registers. Person A will earn 2 entries, and person B will earn 1 entry Plus and 1 entry for registering themselves.

The prize must be accepted as awarded, and cannot be assigned, exchanged or substituted, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. The prize is not transferable. The prize or any unused portion cannot be exchanged for cash unless stated otherwise in these official rules and regulations. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize with a prize of equal or greater value.

4. Selecting the Winners
An independent judging organization will conduct a random draw on or about September 23, 2009 (the “Sweepstakes Draw Date”) at 67 Mowat Ave, Suite 240, Toronto ON M6K 3E3 at or around 11:30 a.m. EST from all entries received on or before the Sweepstakes Closing Date. The odds of being selected depend upon the total number of entries received. The selected entrant will be contacted by telephone.

In order to claim the prize and be declared a winner the selected entrant will be required (a) to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind (whether mechanical or otherwise) a mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by mail or email; and (b) complete and return to Sponsor a declaration and liability/publicity release document, confirming compliance with these Official Rules, accept the prize as awarded, releasing the Sponsor, and their affiliated companies from any liability, as described more fully below, and consenting to the use of his or her name, address (city and province) photograph, and likeness, as described more fully below.

Failure by any selected entrant to complete, sign and return any of the aforementioned documents within 14 business days after notification is sent to the address or email address on the selected entrant’s registration form, or the return of prize documents as undeliverable, may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate entrant in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted in 5 business days or if for any other reason the prize cannot be awarded, another entrant may be randomly selected, and subject to disqualification on the same basis. Failure of an entrant to correctly answer the skill-testing question will result in disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize, and selection of an alternate entrant in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Communication will be entered into only with selected entrants. The prize will only be delivered to a verified winner.

5. Release; Limitation of Liability
Sponsor and their promotional and advertising agencies, and all respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents shall have no liability and shall be held harmless by entrants for any damage, loss or liability to person or property, due in whole or part, directly or indirectly, to participation in this Sweepstakes, or if declared a winner, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize awarded. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorney’s fees. Sponsor and its promotion and advertising agencies are not responsible for lost, misdirected, fraudulent, incomplete, or illegible submissions which will be void. Sponsor may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes or winning a prize, if, in its sole discretion, it determines that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes by cheating, hacking deception, or other unfair playing practices (including the use of automated quick entry programs) or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or Sponsor representatives.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATLEY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW. INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

6. Right to Terminate
Subject only to the permission of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux in Quebec, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, amend or suspend part or all of this Sweepstakes should non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the reasonable control of sponsor corrupt or impair the administration security, fairness or proper play of the Sweepstakes. In such event, Sponsor may award prize in a random drawing from all eligible entries received up to the date of cancellation or suspension.

8. General
The decisions of the independent contest judging organization are final and binding on all aspects of this Sweepstakes. By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the independent judging organization. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. Void where prohibited.

10. Quebec Residents
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
